While Suvarnabhumi International Airport is Bangkok’s premier airport, Don Mueang International Airport is also quite active especially for budget airlines and hosts thousands of tourists per day.
To go to Don Mueang, Taxi is the easiest way but also it costs the most. Another more economical transportation option would be the Airport shuttle bus from Mo chi to Don Mueang Airport and the maximum will only cost you THB 72.
I will take On Nut station, where we are staying in Bangkok, as an example. From On Nut to Mo Chit, the fare is THB 42, in between there are 17 stops and it takes about 30 minutes from On Nut to Mo Chit and no need to interchange line.
Arrival at Mo Chit, there is a map showing you all exits information. You can see the A1 bus stop is closer to the Exit 3. (you can also see besides BTS, you can take MRT to ChatuChak Park Station instead if your start location is closer to MRT.)
Go to Exit 3 and take the stairs or elevator to the ground floor. If you are facing the park, then turn right and keep walking till you see this little kiosk. But you don’t need to buy the ticket in advance there, you pay on the bus.
From the bus stop, you can see it is pretty close to the BTS station.
Opposite the bus stop is a taxi waiting area. If you missed the bus and in a rush, you can just cross the road and take a taxi. (The bus comes every 10 minutes, sometimes even less, and they have 2 lines, A1 and A2, operating the same route directly to the airport.)
Now, you are on the bus, there is a lady selling the tickets. You just simply look for a seat and sit down and she will come to you. The bus ticket is THB 30. The bus takes about 25 minutes to the airport and of course it varies depending on the traffic.
Dun Dun……these are the tickets!
And this is the big orange airport bus.
