Our flight was in the evening, so we still had a half day to see around in Ho Chi Minh City.
After we checked-out at the hotel, we had lunch in Klasik Coffee Roasters (Former of The Cupping Room). The coffee shop was cozy and they provided free WIFI. When we first stepped in the shop, it was so quiet even though there were a few customers already. Everyone was quiet and focused on their laptop, phone or coffee. We wondered whether there was a rule here that you must talk quietly. But later on, more and more customers came in groups and broke the silence. (Thanks to them we were able to go back to talking “normally”.)
They were not only brewing the high quality coffee, but also tasty sandwiches.
In Vietnam, there are a lot of delicious food and it is hard for you to stop eating especially for a foodie like me. After a big feast in Klasik Coffee Roasters, it couldn’t satisfy my tummy. So, the next stop was the famous street food stall “The Lunch Lady”, which specializes in serving noodle soups. However, the stall was already closed when we got there (3pm). We missed the chance to try the famous street noodle soup in Ho Chi Minh City…but we got the beautiful Saigon River view…
To compensate missing out on The Lunch Lady, we had a Plan B, the “Papaya Salad Lady”.
You can find Papaya Lady opposite the entrance of the Gong Vien Le Van Tam Park. After we had bought my salad and looked for a place to eat in the park, we found that Papaya Lady had another stall in the park for people who wanted to eat-in (The salad is served with a plate). I guess the one we went to was for to-go.
After filling up my food craving tummy with the delicious papaya salad, it was time to go to the airport.
We decided to take the bus No. 109. The bus stop was about 8 minutes walk from the Cong Vien Le Van Tan Park which we went for the papaya salad.
The map above shows the route to get to the bus stop. The blue bus stop is NOT the one going towards the airport, that is going to the city. You have to turn right at the corner and you will see another bus stop.
At the Bus Stop.
The Bus is spacious and clean. The bus ticket is 20,000VND.
If you have some spare time before heading to the airport, you can visit the Pink Church which is very close to the Cong Vien Le Van Tan Park. (The location is on the above map.)
The end of the Ho Chi Minh City trip had arrived. But I just couldn’t miss the chance for a final Phở at the airport before boarding.
Bye Ho Chi Minh City!
